Health Minister Inspects Joypurhat Hospital and Unveils Rural Plan

On Sunday afternoon, the Health Minister conducted an official inspection of the Joypurhat General Hospital. The visit marked a significant step in the government's ongoing efforts to evaluate and improve medical infrastructure at the local level.
During the inspection, the Health Minister announced a major plan to establish 'Health Hubs' designed to serve as the focal point for rural healthcare services. According to the announcement, these hubs will ensure that both health and family planning services are provided seamlessly under one single umbrella.
To expand the reach of these medical initiatives, health workers will conduct door-to-door visits in communities. These outreach efforts are specifically planned to carry out primary screenings and early detection procedures for several critical health conditions, including blood pressure, diabetes, and breast and cervical cancer.
The comprehensive upgrading strategy also includes substantial structural enhancements across medical facilities. Authorities confirmed that the bed capacity of various upazila hospitals is currently being increased to 151 beds to accommodate a higher volume of patients seeking medical attention.
Furthermore, critical care infrastructure will receive a major boost through the installation of specialized medical equipment. Plans dictate that 10 dialysis machines will be set up in district hospitals, while district headquarters hospitals will receive an allocation of 50 dialysis machines each.
The Ministry of Health has set a clear timeline for these sweeping healthcare reforms. The government's stated objective is to fully implement this ambitious rural healthcare development plan within the next two to three years.
