Fire Service Honours 40 Personnel and 28 Stations for Outstanding Service
The Fire Service and Civil Defence Directorate has recognised 40 staff for bravery and 28 stations for administrative excellence. A special ceremony was held at the headquarters to distribute crests and rank badges.
The Fire Service and Civil Defence has formally recognised the dedication and bravery of its personnel during a dedicated ceremony held at the Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters. A total of 40 officials and employees received special honours acknowledging their remarkable operational bravery in the line of duty. Alongside the individual bravery awards, representatives from 28 fire stations were awarded crests in recognition of their exceptional administrative performance across various operational benchmarks.
The official event, titled the 'Honours and Insignia Presentation Ceremony', took place on September 2, 2026. Director General of the department, Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, graced the occasion as the chief guest and personally handed over the recognition mementos to the deserving recipients, celebrating their hard work, commitment, and steadfast dedication to public safety and institutional excellence.
As part of the comprehensive administrative proceedings during the ceremony, newly promoted officials were also formally integrated into their higher ranks. Specifically, 14 newly promoted Warehouse Inspectors were officially adorned with their new rank badges by the Director General, marking a significant professional milestone in their respective careers within the fire service administration.
The selection of the honoured fire stations spanned multiple administrative divisions, reflecting widespread operational standards. Among the recognized units, five of the best fire stations were selected from both the Dhaka and the Chattogram divisions, highlighting their superior performance. Additionally, three of the best fire stations were chosen from each of the other remaining divisions across the country.
This special recognition event underscores the ongoing efforts of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Directorate to boost the morale of its workforce. By publicly acknowledging both operational heroism and administrative efficiency, the department aims to encourage all officers and staff to maintain high standards of service delivery and emergency response readiness.
