DU Third Language Program Expansion Plan Handed to Pro-VC

A delegation from Dhaka University's Institute of Modern Languages officially handed over a conceptual paper regarding the expansion and dynamic enhancement of third-language educational activities. The formal handover took place at the university premises on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, marking a significant development in the academic offerings of the institution in the capital city of Dhaka.

The conceptual paper was presented directly to Professor Dr. Abdues Salam, who is currently carrying out the routine responsibilities of the university's Pro-Vice Chancellor for education. The official handover ceremony was attended by key academic figures and members of the administrative leadership associated with the ongoing institutional developments at Dhaka University.

The delegation responsible for drafting and delivering the document was led by Professor Dr. A.K.M. Waliul Islam, who serves as a supernumerary professor and convenor of the designated committee. Accompanying him during the morning meeting on Wednesday were several notable individuals, including Dr. A.B.M. Obaidul Islam, Professor Dr. Mohammad Almozadeddi Al-Fesani, and Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel.

Following the receipt of the conceptual paper by the Pro-Vice Chancellor's office, university authorities have announced subsequent steps to evaluate the proposal thoroughly. To review the comprehensive document and formulate a strategic work plan for the future, an upcoming seminar has been officially scheduled to take place on 21 September.

The initiative specifically targets the enhancement of third-language learning opportunities within the Institute of Modern Languages at Dhaka University. Through the collaborative efforts of the committee members and the university administration, the proposed expansions aim to bring greater dynamism and structure to the institute's specialized language programs.
