Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan has officially begun his tenure as the newly appointed Minister of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives. On August 23, marking his very first working day in this significant governmental role, the minister arrived at the Secretariat in Dhaka to engage directly with the administrative officials and key personnel operating within his newly assigned ministry.

During this inaugural interaction at the Secretariat, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan presided over a comprehensive views-exchange meeting with the officials. The high-level gathering was also attended by State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Mir Shahe Alam, alongside the ministry's Secretary, Md Shahidul Hasan, who participated in the discussions regarding the ongoing administrative duties and operational priorities of the department.

This major political transition and subsequent cabinet assignment follow a notable leadership shift within the national governance structure. Specifically, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan was given the responsibility of leading the Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Ministry shortly after Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was elected as the President of the country, prompting a reshuffle and new ministerial allocations.

Addressing the broader political and governmental philosophy during his engagements, the newly appointed minister made a significant statement regarding the administration's stance on governance and justice. Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan explicitly stated that the government is empowered by the people, emphasizing the official position that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) government believes strictly in the rule of law rather than engaging in any form of political vengeance.

The orientation meeting at the Secretariat underscores the current administration's focus on maintaining institutional continuity and administrative collaboration under the leadership of Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan. As the ministry moves forward under its new ministerial leadership alongside State Minister Mir Shahe Alam and Secretary Md Shahidul Hasan, the focus remains firmly on executing governmental responsibilities in accordance with established legal frameworks and public service mandates.
