Bangladesh Appoints New Director Generals and Officials in Key Roles
The government of Bangladesh has announced a series of key appointments and promotions across vital administrative and security agencies. The changes involve high-ranking officials from the civil administration and the armed forces.
Dhaka, Bangladesh — In a significant administrative reshuffle on August 23, 2026, the government of Bangladesh announced new appointments and promotions for several high-ranking officials across various critical state institutions and agencies.
According to the official announcements made in Dhaka, Mo. Jahangir Alam has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of the National Government Employees Hospital. This key healthcare facility operates under the broader framework of government welfare services for state employees.
In another major development within the civil administration, Mo. Abdur Razzak Sarker has been promoted to the rank of Secretary. Following his promotion to this senior administrative rank, he has been assigned to serve as a member of the Invest Bangladesh Authority.
Security and intelligence agencies have also seen notable leadership changes with several high-level postings. Aminul Islam, who previously served as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Rangpur Range, has been transferred and appointed as a director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI).
Similarly, Mohammad Abdul Kader, who was serving as a DIG in the Police Special Branch (SB), has also been appointed as a director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI), strengthening the leadership team within the intelligence apparatus.
Rounding out the new appointments in the intelligence sector, Brigadier General Muhammad Monwar Hossain has been appointed as a director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI), bringing military expertise to the crucial national security agency.
