DMP Traffic Drive: Over 2,000 Cases Filed in Dhaka

The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has conducted extensive operations across various areas of the capital city to enforce traffic regulations and crack down on violations. According to official announcements released by the DMP media branch, these rigorous enforcement drives resulted in thousands of legal actions being taken against motorists and vehicle owners who failed to comply with established traffic laws on Dhaka's busy streets.

During the course of these recent operations, the DMP traffic division officially filed a total of 2,009 cases against various traffic law violators. This sweeping crackdown was distributed across multiple operational divisions within the metropolis to ensure widespread compliance, reflecting the department's ongoing commitment to maintaining order and safety on the roadways of the capital city.

A detailed breakdown of the enforcement data released by the authorities highlights the distribution of these legal actions across different zones of the city. Specifically, the traffic-Ramna division recorded 157 cases, while the traffic-Lalbagh division accounted for 171 cases. Meanwhile, the traffic-Motijheel division registered 333 cases, and the traffic-Wari division reported a significant total of 372 cases for various traffic violations.

Further enforcement figures show that the traffic-Tejgaon division filed 165 cases, and the traffic-Mirpur division issued 311 cases against rule-breakers. Additionally, the traffic-Uttara division recorded 321 cases, and the traffic-Gulshan division documented 179 cases during the capital-wide operations conducted by the DMP personnel.

Beyond the filing of formal legal cases, the proactive measures taken by the DMP traffic division also included heavy physical actions against illegally parked or unauthorized vehicles. Official statistics confirm that during these operations, a total of 497 vehicles were sent for dumping, while another 294 vehicles were subjected to wrecker operations to clear congested thoroughfares across Dhaka.
