DMP Traffic Division Files 2,478 Cases in Dhaka Operations

The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has intensified its enforcement operations across the capital city, recording a staggering number of legal actions against traffic rule violators. According to official reports released following the statewide sweep, a total of 2,478 cases were filed on Saturday, September 12, targeting individuals and vehicles operating in violation of established traffic regulations in Dhaka.

These widespread operations spanned multiple administrative and geographic divisions within the metropolitan area, yielding varying numbers of violations depending on local traffic conditions. The enforcement drive saw significant activity in the northern and western sectors of the capital, where traffic management personnel actively monitored thoroughfares and penalized offenders.

A detailed breakdown of the statistics reveals that the highest number of cases was recorded in the Uttara division, with authorities filing 642 cases against violators. Close behind was the Mirpur division, where law enforcement personnel documented 517 separate traffic cases during the course of the Saturday operations.

Further operational figures from other key zones across Dhaka highlight the extensive reach of the campaign. The Gulshan division accounted for 382 cases, while the Motijheel division registered 314 cases. Additionally, traffic officials recorded 270 cases in the Wari division, 133 cases in the Lalbagh division, 120 cases in the Tejgaon division, and 100 cases in the Ramna division.

Addressing the ongoing enforcement measures and the necessity of maintaining order on the capital's streets, Mo. Aktar Hossain emphasized the long-term commitment of the law enforcement agency. He stated that operations by the DMP traffic division to maintain traffic discipline in the Dhaka metropolitan area will continue unabated.
