The Department of Islamic Studies at Dhaka University organized its orientation program for the 2025-26 academic session. The event took place at the RC Majumdar Arts Auditorium with senior university officials in attendance.

The Department of Islamic Studies at Dhaka University officially welcomed its new cohort for the 2025-26 academic session during a special orientation event held on August 24, 2026. The gathering brought together students, faculty members, and university leadership at the prominent RC Majumdar Arts Auditorium, located on the historic campus premises.

Professor Dr. Abduus Salam graced the academic gathering as the chief guest, representing the university's central administration in his capacity as the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education. His presence underscored the institutional importance placed on welcoming incoming scholars to the Faculty of Arts department.

Addressing the newly enrolled students during the proceedings, Professor Dr. Abduus Salam emphasized the critical value of holistic development in higher education. He articulated that students must actively engage in co-curricular activities alongside their regular academic pursuits to cultivate versatile skills essential for their future endeavors.

The event also featured the presence of several other distinguished academic leaders and faculty members from the university. Among the notable attendees participating in the department's orientation program were Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Sarkar, Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul Latif, Professor Dr. Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman, and Professor Dr. Muhammad Zahirul Islam.

Further expanding the delegation of department affiliates and organizers at the RC Majumdar Arts Auditorium were Kazi Farzana Afrin, Mohammad Nahid, Mohammad Abraham, Raihan Yusuf, Sirajun Munira, Iftekhar Ahmed Tanvir, and Nusrat Jahan Mushfika. Together, the faculty members and organizers ensured a structured and welcoming environment for the fresh intake of the 2025-26 academic year.
