The Dhaka University authorities have temporarily hidden personal reviews and ratings submitted by students on the 'DU Evaluation' platform, which was designed for evaluating university teachers. This digital initiative, created to facilitate academic feedback within the institution, has faced unexpected technical and content-moderation challenges following its rollout.
According to an urgent notification published on September 13, 2026, the website experienced an abnormal surge in review submissions. The notice explained that the sudden influx required immediate intervention to remove spam and obscene content that had been posted on the platform by users.
To address these issues, the administration has initiated a comprehensive verification process to thoroughly check all the data and reviews currently hosted on the site. This administrative action aims to ensure the integrity and appropriateness of the feedback mechanism intended for the faculty members.
As part of the ongoing moderation measures, authorities announced that the previous reviews and ratings will remain invisible to users until September 17 at 11:59 PM. The temporary restriction is expected to give moderators sufficient time to clean up the platform and restore proper functionality.
The online evaluation platform itself was originally introduced and launched by the Dhaka University Central Students' Union, commonly known as DUCSU. The student organization developed the system to provide a structured channel for students to share their academic experiences and evaluate teaching standards at the university.
