Dhaka Metropolitan Police Revokes Transfer Orders for Two Sabujbagh OCs
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police issued and subsequently revoked transfer orders for two officers within hours on Tuesday. The rapid administrative adjustments also involved leadership changes at Lalbagh police station.
In a series of rapid administrative developments within the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, transfer orders concerning the officer-in-charge of Sabujbagh police station were issued and subsequently reversed on Tuesday, September 8. The official directives, which outlined multiple shifts across various divisions and stations, were formally announced through separate orders signed by Shahriyar Ali, the Deputy Commissioner of the DMP Headquarters and Administration department.
According to the initial directives released earlier in the day, the officer-in-charge of Sabujbagh police station, Md. Saiful Islam, was originally ordered to be transferred to the Crime Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. Simultaneously, police inspector Mohammad Saiful Islam, who had been serving in the Detective Branch's Tejgaon division, was assigned to take over the responsibilities as the new officer-in-charge of Sabujbagh police station.
However, the initial arrangement was short-lived as authorities issued a revised order at approximately 5:00 p.m. on the same day. This subsequent directive officially suspended the earlier transfer order affecting Md. Saiful Islam, ensuring he remained stationed at Sabujbagh as the officer-in-charge. Consequently, Mohammad Saiful Islam was maintained within his previous assignment inside the Detective Branch rather than assuming the Sabujbagh station command.
Alongside the adjustments regarding the Sabujbagh police station leadership, the Tuesday directives also instituted separate personnel changes within the broader Dhaka Metropolitan Police structure. Mohammad Jamil Hossain, who had been working as an inspector in the Media and Public Relations department, received a new posting as the officer-in-charge of Lalbagh police station.
The reassignment of Mohammad Jamil Hossain to Lalbagh directly impacted the station's previous leadership. Md. Yasin Ali, who had been serving as the officer-in-charge of Lalbagh police station, was transferred away from the station and reassigned to the Procurement and Workshop division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
