Dhaka Board Announces Schedule for Junior Scholarship Exams 2026
The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has released the schedule and guidelines for the upcoming 2026 junior scholarship examinations. The tests are set to commence on December 8 across designated subjects.
The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, operating under the purview of the Ministry of Education and the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, has officially announced the timetable and comprehensive instructions for the much-anticipated 2026 junior scholarship examinations. According to the newly released circular issued in Dhaka on August 23, 2026, students across the jurisdiction will soon begin their preparations to sit for these crucial academic evaluations.
As per the newly finalized schedule, the formal examinations for the 2026 junior scholarship will officially commence on December 8, 2026. The examination board has meticulously spaced out the dates to ensure students have adequate time to prepare between each specific subject paper during the busy winter examination period in the capital and surrounding regions.
The sequence of the tests begins with the Bengali examination on the opening day, scheduled for December 8. This will be followed by the English examination, which is slated to take place two days later on December 10. Subsequently, candidates will sit for the mathematics paper on December 13, and the rigorous testing period will conclude on December 15 with the combined science and Bangladesh and global studies paper.
In total, candidates participating in the 2026 junior scholarship examinations are required to appear for evaluations totaling 400 marks. The curriculum and assessment structure assigns a full 100 marks to each of the core subjects, namely Bengali, English, and mathematics. Meanwhile, the remaining 100 marks are divided equally between science and Bangladesh and global studies, with each of those two specific subjects accounting for 50 marks.
To ensure a smooth and transparent examination process, the educational authorities have formally instituted six specific guidelines that must be strictly followed by all participating students. These official directives outline the necessary protocols for the candidates as they prepare for the examinations starting in December. Education officials in Dhaka continue to coordinate with relevant institutions to implement these directives effectively.
