A 65-year-old woman identified as Chuda Banu has died from dengue at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in Bangladesh, according to official reports released on August 27, 2026. The fatality highlights a worsening dengue situation at the medical facility as vector-borne illness cases continue to rise across the region.

The victim, whose home was in Tarail upazila of Kishoreganj district, was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on the afternoon of August 26. Despite receiving medical care at the facility, she succumbed to the disease, adding to the growing toll of casualties in the area.

The health crisis at the hospital is reflected in recent statistics provided by institutional and media sources, including Jago News. Over the preceding 24 hours alone, an additional 36 patients infected with dengue were admitted to the hospital to receive urgent medical treatment for their symptoms.

With these recent admissions, the total burden on the healthcare facility remains exceptionally high. As of Thursday, the hospital authorities confirmed that a total of 107 dengue patients were currently undergoing treatment as inpatients within the wards of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

The latest death and ongoing influx of patients push the cumulative death toll from dengue at the hospital to nine individuals since the beginning of the current year. Health monitors continue to track the deteriorating situation as medical staff grapple with the sustained volume of incoming patients requiring specialized care.
