The Chittagong University Central Students' Union (Chaksu) has successfully organized a comprehensive two-day self-defense training program aimed at empowering female students. The special initiative was designed to enhance personal safety, boost overall confidence, and foster greater awareness among the young women studying at the university. According to the verified event schedule, the practical training sessions took place over two consecutive days on September 11 and September 12.

Following the completion of the rigorous program, a formal closing ceremony was held on Sunday, September 13. During this concluding event, the organizers officially distributed certificates of completion to the female students who successfully finished the self-defense course. Expert instruction for the program was provided by Raiya Amin, a dedicated student hailing from Rajshahi University, who served as the primary trainer for the sessions.

Addressing the participants and attendees during the program, Professor Alamin emphasized the core objectives behind the initiative. He stated that Chaksu's primary goal in arranging the training was to elevate the security, awareness, and self-assurance of female students. He further noted that self-defense techniques are vital not just on campus, but in every sphere of life, including streets and homes, stressing that keeping a calm head instead of panicking during adverse situations is a crucial lesson.

Echoing similar sentiments, Professor Shafiqul Islam remarked on the broader social context of such life skills. He observed that while students internationally pursue such training independently, it is even more essential for young women in the reality of Bangladesh. He added that true smartness extends far beyond clothing, residing instead in the acquisition of practical skills and the ability to present oneself capably.

In addition to the self-defense workshop updates, Sayed Bin Habib provided context regarding ongoing campus developments and administrative efforts. He noted that work is actively underway to resolve housing and commuting problems, and a Development Project Proposal (DPP) for the infrastructural development of 10 residential halls has already been successfully passed. He highlighted that the absolute biggest success of the current period is the establishment of a campus environment completely free from violence and unauthorized seat occupations.
