Chittagong University Students Union Donates Job Prep Books to Halls
Chittagong University Students Union has provided job preparation books to five female residential halls on campus. The donation was officially marked during an event held at the Shamsunnahar Hall TV room.
In a significant initiative aimed at supporting female scholars on campus, the Chittagong University Students Union—commonly known as Chaksu—has officially donated a collection of job preparation books to five different female residential halls at Chittagong University. This academic support initiative is designed to assist resident students in preparing for their future professional careers by enhancing the available resources within their hall seminar rooms.
The formal handover of the books took place on August 18, 2026, during a dedicated programme hosted inside the television room of Shamsunnahar Hall. The gathering brought together notable university figures and student representatives to commemorate the distribution of these essential study materials across the designated female halls.
Addressing the attendees during the event, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan shared his perspective on the collaborative relationship between the university administration and the student union. He stated, "We never consider Chaksu to be our rival. The current administration has always viewed Chaksu as its partner. Our objective is singular—to increase opportunities and facilities for students."
Echoing these sentiments, Professor Dr. Mo. Shafiqul Islam emphasized the importance of academic engagement and lauded the proactive measures taken by the student union. Highlighting the need for greater intellectual involvement, he remarked, "Female students must be more enthusiastic about reading books. To this end, Chaksu's initiatives are commendable."
Adding to the discussion from the student welfare perspective, Jannatul Ferdous Rita underscored the ongoing commitment to the needs of female scholars on campus. Reaffirming future plans, she noted, "Prioritising the needs and welfare of female students, this type of activity will continue in the future."
