The primary focus of these official inspections was to identify and address widespread irregularities concerning mandatory parking facilities, fire safety protocols, and deviations from originally approved architectural building designs. Following the discovery of multiple violations during these targeted visits, the regulatory body imposed strict deadlines on the respective institution managements to rectify the identified structural and operational discrepancies.
During the inspections, significant regulatory breaches were uncovered at several medical facilities. At Lancet Hospital, authorities discovered that the healthcare institution was operating within a residential building, alongside the operation of commercial shops occupying designated parking areas. Consequently, the management of Lancet Hospital has been officially granted a period of one month to resolve these violations. Meanwhile, Treatment Hospital was found to be improperly utilizing designated parking spaces for storing cylinders, accompanied by an overall lack of adequate parking infrastructure for visitors and staff.
Further inspections at Chevron Hospital revealed that the ground floor, which was originally allocated as a parking area according to the approved building design, lacked sufficient parking availability. As a result, the authorities issued a three-month deadline to Chevron Hospital to restore the parking space to its intended regulatory compliance. Similarly, inspections at Belle View Hospital identified that the spaces specifically designated for parking ambulances were not being utilized for that purpose, pointing to ongoing management failures regarding site planning and vehicular accommodation.
Retail and educational establishments also faced immediate scrutiny from the development authority during the city-wide operation. The management of Utshab Supermarket was formally instructed to appear at the Chittagong Development Authority office by the following day, bringing along their officially approved architectural design documents for review. In the education sector, Al Hidayah International School was found to completely lack any form of parking management infrastructure on its premises, prompting school authorities to sign a formal undertaking promising to resolve the issue within one month.
