China Congratulates Bangladesh President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir

Chinese President Xi Jinping has formally congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on assuming office as the 23rd president of Bangladesh. The official diplomatic communication highlights the ongoing bilateral engagement between Beijing and Dhaka amidst a shifting global landscape.

Expanding on the historical ties between the two nations, President Xi Jinping stated that China and Bangladesh have long remained friendly neighbouring countries. He further emphasized that this strong bilateral relationship has successfully remained steadfast despite changing international situations over the years.

Highlighting the longevity of diplomatic ties, the Chinese leader noted that during the 51 years since diplomatic relations were officially established, both countries have consistently maintained a policy of mutual respect. Furthermore, he noted that Beijing and Dhaka have always treated each other on the basis of absolute equality.

In a separate diplomatic engagement in the capital city of Dhaka, the Saudi Arabian ambassador to Bangladesh, Dr. Abdullah Jafer H. Al-Abia, paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. This high-level meeting reflects the continued diplomatic outreach between the leadership and diplomatic missions stationed within the country.

Additionally, the Chief Justice of Bangladesh, Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury, also held a separate courtesy meeting with President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in Dhaka. These successive meetings mark significant institutional interactions following the assumption of the presidency by the new head of state.
