BSS MD Kamal Uddin Majumdar Contract Cancelled and Kader Ghani Chowdhury Appointed

The contract appointment of journalist Md. Kamal Uddin Majumdar, also known as Kamal Uddin Sobuj, as the Managing Director and Chief Editor of the national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), has been officially cancelled by the government authorities in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

According to the official notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday, August 27, 2026, the remaining duration of his contractual tenure at the state-run news agency has been completely terminated.

Kamal Uddin Majumdar initially secured the prominent position at Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha earlier this year on April 7, when he was originally appointed to serve as the Managing Director and Chief Editor for a full duration of one year.

Following the cancellation of his remaining term, the Ministry of Public Administration announced a new leadership transition for the national news agency on the very same Thursday, August 27, 2026, in Dhaka.

Journalist Muhammad Kader Ghani Chowdhury has been officially appointed to step into the role as the new Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, taking over the responsibilities under a fresh one-year contractual agreement.
