South Korea's New Visa Application Centre to Open in Dhaka
A new South Korea visa application centre is set to open in Dhaka on September 2. The facility, operated by VFS, will be located on Kamal Ataturk Avenue in Banani.
A brand new visa application centre for South Korea is officially scheduled to launch in Dhaka on the second of September. This upcoming facility aims to streamline the application process for individuals wishing to travel to the East Asian nation from Bangladesh. The initiative marks a significant step in managing the growing volume of visa applications and providing structured services to prospective travellers through an established external partner.
The newly established centre will be situated in the capital's prominent Banani area, specifically on Kamal Ataturk Avenue. Strategically chosen for its accessibility, this location will serve as the primary hub for submitting documentation. Applicants will be able to visit the premises during designated operational hours, which are set from Sunday through Thursday, excluding official holidays. The daily schedule for the centre will run continuously from nine in the morning until four in the afternoon.
Operations at this new facility will be managed entirely through VFS, a globally recognized outsourced visa processing organization. VFS will handle the day-to-day intake of documents and administrative procedures. However, certain exceptions remain in place for specific categories of travel: passports associated with diplomatic and official visas will continue to be processed and collected directly at the South Korean embassy rather than through the new VFS-run centre.
Individuals applying for visas through the newly launched centre will be subject to specific financial requirements regarding processing costs. The established visa fees vary depending on the specific category of travel, ranging across forty, sixty, seventy, or ninety US dollars. In addition to these official visa fees, applicants must pay a mandatory service fee of two thousand one hundred and fifty taka directly to the visa application centre for its operational services.
The opening of this dedicated facility on Kamal Ataturk Avenue is expected to organize the workflow for applicants residing in and around Dhaka. By utilizing the structured operational hours from Sunday to Thursday, prospective visitors can plan their submissions accordingly. The collaboration between the embassy and VFS ensures that standard applications follow a clear pathway, while high-level diplomatic and official documentation remains under the direct purview of the South Korean mission.
