Bangladesh Team Prepares for First Global Challenge 2026 in South Korea
The Bangladesh robotics team is gearing up to participate in the prestigious First Global Challenge 2026, scheduled to take place in Incheon, South Korea. A dedicated group of students and mentors will represent the nation among nearly 190 participating countries.
The global robotics community is preparing for the upcoming First Global Challenge 2026, which is officially scheduled to take place from October 7 to October 10, 2026. The international event will be hosted in the vibrant city of Incheon, South Korea, bringing together young minds and technological innovators from across the globe.
This year marks a significant milestone for the country, as it will be the tenth consecutive time that the Bangladesh team is participating in this prestigious international robotics competition. Out of approximately 195 nations worldwide, roughly 190 countries are expected to send their delegations to compete, collaborate, and showcase their engineering prowess on a massive global stage.
The overarching theme for the 2026 edition of the competition has been officially designated as 'Igniting Innovation: Focusing on Wildfire Prevention, Mitigation and Recovery'. In strict alignment with this critical theme, the talented members of the Bangladesh team are currently designing and constructing a specialized shooter robot specifically engineered to address the challenges of wildfire prevention.
The official roster representing the nation comprises a diverse and enthusiastic group of individuals. The participating students and team members include Mahruz Mohammad Ayman, Md. Mohtasam Musharraf Shafi, Md. Ishmam Shahruz Chowdhury, Suhana Mannan, Nuraj Hossain, Sarim Ahmed, Nuzhat Jahan, Sandipan Kundu, Mohammad Shams Jaber, Raihan Ahmed Rahat, Sifat Samia Islam, Muhammad Ahsan Nahiyan, Fayez Alam Rimon, and Taha Kaiser Disawala.
Highlighting the immense collaborative value of the international event, team member Mohammad Shams Jaber shared his perspective on the upcoming gathering. He stated that the First Global platform is far more than a standard robotics competition, describing it as a vibrant gathering of robotics students and mentors hailing from roughly 190 different countries across the planet.
Jaber further elaborated that this prominent international event serves as an extraordinary opportunity for the younger generation. According to his observations, it fosters mutual cooperation, facilitates the acquisition of novel knowledge, and enables a rich cultural exchange among people representing almost all nations of the world.
Looking back at past achievements, the delegation boasts a commendable track record on the international platform. Notably, the Bangladesh team previously secured the championship title in the year 2020 and subsequently earned a prestigious silver medal in the 2024 iteration of the competition.
To ensure adequate preparation and logistical support for the upcoming journey to South Korea, the team has successfully secured institutional backing. Midland Bank PLC and Ulkasemi have officially joined hands with the delegation as the designated silver sponsors for Team Bangladesh.
