BGB Seizes 200,000 Yaba Tablets and Arrests Suspect in Ukhiya

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has successfully seized two hundred thousand yaba tablets during a targeted security operation in the border region of Cox's Bazar district. The major narcotics interception took place in the early hours of the morning, specifically around 4:00 AM, in the Kutuber Gher area located near the international border with Myanmar. The operation was executed by members of the Ukhiya Battalion, officially designated as the 64 BGB, operating out of the Unchiprang Border Outpost (BOP).

During the course of the successful security sweep, BGB personnel successfully detained one suspected drug dealer at the scene. The arrested individual has been identified by authorities as Zia Uddin, a thirty-five-year-old male. Official background details confirmed by the border security forces indicate that the detained suspect is a resident of Kanjarpara village, situated within the neighboring Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar district.

Investigators and border security officials have further identified the detained suspect's lineage, noting that he is the son of the late Nur Ahmad. The seizure of the two hundred thousand yaba pills highlights ongoing enforcement challenges along the border zone. The operation underscores the continuous vigilance maintained by the 64 BGB and the Unchiprang BOP in intercepting illicit substances trafficked across the frontier into Bangladesh.

Following the early morning raid and the subsequent confiscation of the massive drug haul, the suspect Zia Uddin was taken into custody by the border guards. The seized narcotics, comprising the two hundred thousand yaba tablets, have been secured as evidence as authorities prepare to file formal legal charges against the detained individual in connection with the cross-border drug trafficking incident.
