Cox's Bazar Flood Victims Receive Cash Assistance in Ukhiya
Six hundred flood-affected families in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar received cash assistance on Wednesday. The distribution was supported by the Norwegian Refugee Council and implemented by REDI.
A total of six hundred families affected by recent floods caused by heavy rainfall in Palongkhali union of Ukhiya upazila, Cox's Bazar, have been provided with vital cash assistance to help them recover from the disaster.
The financial distribution took place on Wednesday within the Palongkhali union area of Ukhiya upazila. Under this humanitarian initiative, each of the targeted six hundred flood-affected families received eight thousand taka in cash.
Altogether, a total of forty-eight million taka was successfully distributed among the recipients during Wednesday's programme, providing significant financial relief to the vulnerable households struggling with the aftermath of the severe flooding.
This relief effort was made possible through the collaborative efforts of multiple organizations. Specifically, the distribution of funds was conducted with the cooperation of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
Furthermore, the entire assistance program on the ground was implemented by the Research Evaluation and Development Initiative (REDI), ensuring that the designated cash reached the rightful families in the affected region.
