BGB member killed in Bogura truck collision

A member of the Border Guard Bangladesh lost his life on Saturday morning after being struck by a moving truck. The fatal accident took place at approximately 9:45 AM in the port area of Mokamtala upazila within Bogura district.

The victim has been officially identified as Md. Rafiqul Islam. At the time of the incident, he was actively serving as a member of the Naogaon Patnitala Battalion, which is also designated as the 14 BGB. He hailed from Panthapara village located in Rajarhat upazila of Kurigram district, and was the son of Kofil Uddin Sarker.

According to the confirmed details of the event, the tragedy unfolded while the BGB personnel was attempting to cross the roadway in the Mokamtala area. The oncoming truck collided with him directly, resulting in his immediate and untimely death at the scene.

Following the deadly collision, law enforcement authorities responded promptly to the emergency. Sub-Inspector Md. Roich Uddin of the Kundarhat Highway Police Station detailed the immediate aftermath of the accident for the public record.

Sub-Inspector Md. Roich Uddin stated that upon receiving the urgent notification, the police force moved swiftly to reach the physical location of the incident. He confirmed that authorities successfully recovered the body from the site.

In accordance with standard legal and investigative procedures, the recovered remains of the deceased BGB member were subsequently transferred. The body was sent directly to the morgue of the Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for necessary examinations.
