Bangladesh to Train Over 53,000 Teachers to Boost Professional Skills
Bangladesh has announced a comprehensive professional development training program for more than 53,000 secondary-level teachers. Master trainers are currently invited to apply online as part of a joint government and World Bank initiative.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), also known as DSHE, has officially issued a call for online applications from master trainers. This crucial recruitment and preparation phase is designed to pave the way for a massive professional skills development training program targeting educators across the country.
Under this extensive educational initiative, a total of 53,000 teachers will receive specialized professional development training. The curriculum for this program focuses on four fundamental academic subjects: Bengali, English, Mathematics, and Science, aiming to elevate teaching standards in these core areas within secondary education.
The upcoming training program is structured to be an intensive, 42-day educational engagement. Participating educators will undergo this extended period of professional enhancement to better equip themselves with modern pedagogical techniques and subject-matter expertise.
This nationwide human resource development effort is being implemented under the Learning Acceleration in Secondary Education (LAISE) project. The project represents a collaborative financial and operational commitment dedicated to improving the overall quality and accessibility of secondary education systems.
Funding for the LAISE project and its associated training endeavors is provided through a joint financing agreement between the Government of Bangladesh and the World Bank. Authorities have announced that the final deadline for eligible master trainers to submit their online applications is September 15.
