Gaibandha UP Chairman Faces Case Filed by Assistant Teacher

A female assistant primary school teacher has formally initiated legal proceedings against Rabiul Islam, the chairman of Rasulpur Union Parishad located in Sadullapur, Gaibandha. The detailed complaint lodged against the local official includes multiple severe accusations such as deception, financial embezzlement, maintaining physical relations under false promises of marriage, and issuing explicit death threats.

According to the verified timeline of the case, the formal complaint was filed on Tuesday night, August 25, 2026. The filing of the case was subsequently confirmed to the public by the officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadullapur police station, AKM Habibur Rahman, during a statement given on Wednesday afternoon, August 26, 2026.

The plaintiff, who serves as an assistant teacher at a government primary school, stated that she divorced her first husband based on the repeated assurances and promises of marriage made by UP Chairman Rabiul Islam. The teacher shares two children from her previous marriage, which was legally dissolved prior to the events leading to the current criminal complaint.

In response to the legal action and the widespread attention surrounding the accusations, UP Chairman Rabiul Islam convened a formal press conference. During this public briefing, Islam categorically denied all the allegations brought against him by the primary school teacher, dismissing the entire case as being entirely motivated.
