Bangladesh to Modernise Technical Education Following Chinese Model
Bangladesh has initiated efforts to modernise its technical education system by following China's vocational training model. The development follows a recent visit to China and includes plans for new training academies and centres.
Bangladesh has officially taken significant steps to modernise and upgrade its national technical and vocational education system by adopting the established technical education model used in China. This strategic bilateral initiative aims to reshape domestic vocational training standards to better align with international practices and contemporary industrial demands.
As a direct result of these ongoing efforts, a high-level press conference was organised on Monday at the conference room of the Technical and Madrasah Education Division under the Ministry of Education. The briefing was held in Dhaka to formally brief media representatives and the public regarding the outcomes and strategic insights gathered during a recent official tour to China.
Among the major and notable achievements highlighted during the recent ministerial and official visit to China is Bangladesh successfully securing the official membership of the prestigious 'Tianhang' Jiangxi Vocational Education International Alliance. This international alliance membership is expected to open new doors for institutional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and advanced technical cooperation between the two nations.
Building upon the momentum of this successful diplomatic and educational mission, the government has already outlined concrete infrastructure projects to be implemented domestically. Specific plans are now actively underway to establish a dedicated technical teacher training academy located in Gazipur, alongside the construction of a new technical training centre in Mirsarai.
The entire modernisation initiative is being spearheaded and coordinated through the Technical and Madrasah Education Division of the Ministry of Education in Dhaka. Officials believe that these comprehensive institutional developments, combined with the adoption of the Chinese vocational model and international alliance partnership, will fundamentally transform the landscape of technical education in Bangladesh.
