Government primary school teacher transfer activities have been suspended indefinitely until the deployment process for newly appointed assistant teachers is fully completed. The decision was officially announced on September 7, 2026, at the Secretariat in Dhaka by State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj.

According to the ministry's announcement, the directive was issued to ensure that the ongoing placement work for the newly recruited educators is prioritized without administrative overlap. The suspension will remain in effect until every newly appointed teacher from this batch has been successfully assigned to their respective posts.

The announcement regarding the indefinite freeze on transfers was made during a press conference held at the Secretariat. State Minister Bobby Hajjaj addressed reporters at the briefing, which was originally organized in observance of International Literacy Day, slated for the following day, Tuesday, September 8.

During the same press briefing, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education officially declared the timeline for the newly recommended candidates under the government primary school assistant teacher recruitment initiative for the year 2025. A total of 14,384 teachers who received recommendations for vacant positions will officially join their roles on October 1, 2026.

Following the joining date later in the autumn, the formal posting process for these candidates is scheduled to take place a few days later, specifically on October 4, 2026. This timeline dictates that the newly recommended cohort of more than 14,000 assistant teachers will settle into their designated schools shortly after the formal procedures are concluded.
