Bangladesh Police Administration Reshuffled in New Government Order
Bangladesh has implemented a significant administrative reshuffle within its police force through an official notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The latest changes involve key postings across various specialized units, including the Rapid Action Battalion and the Police Bureau of Investigation.
A fresh administrative reshuffle has been officially executed within the police force of Bangladesh, bringing notable changes to several key operational and regional units. The comprehensive organizational updates were formally enacted through a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, outlining multiple transfers and reassignments among high-ranking officials.
The official notification, which bears the signature of Towsif Ahmed, Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, outlines specific structural movements within the law enforcement hierarchy. Alongside the confirmed transfers of several senior personnel, the directive also includes provisions that officially cancel previous posting orders for certain officials across different functional capacities.
Prominent among the senior-level reassignments is the relocation of Md. Humayun Kabir, who previously served as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI). According to the newly released directives from the ministry, Mr. Kabir has now been reassigned to take on responsibilities as the Additional Director General of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
In another significant metropolitan posting announced within the same notification, Mu. Mahbubur Rashid has been assigned to a new leadership role. Previously serving as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for the Special Branch (SB), Mr. Rashid is now transitioning to take charge as the Police Commissioner of the Rangpur Metropolitan Police.
Furthermore, the administrative adjustments extend beyond these primary high-level command positions to encompass a broader spectrum of the police establishment. The comprehensive notification specifically details the transfer and posting mandates affecting a total of nine officials holding the rank of Superintendent of Police, alongside various other officers across different operational ranks within the national police structure.
