The government of Bangladesh officially marked its six-month milestone on August 17, 2026. This administration was formed earlier this year on February 17, following the nationwide general elections that were successfully held on February 12, 2026.

To commemorate the completion of six months in office, the government published a comprehensive e-book titled 'Jonogoner Sorkarer 180 Din' (180 Days of the People's Government). This newly released publication highlights a wide variety of ongoing administrative reforms and governance initiatives undertaken by the current leadership.

Among the notable announcements accompanying the six-month milestone, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has decided to return a portion of his official earnings to the state coffers. Specifically, the Prime Minister is returning ten percent of his monthly basic salary.

The financial figures associated with this decision reveal that the Prime Minister's official monthly basic salary stands at 115,000 taka. Consequently, the ten percent deduction being regularly returned to the public treasury amounts to 11,500 taka every single month.

In addition to these financial adjustments, the administration has introduced specific protocol reforms regarding public displays. A definitive decision has been enacted to completely ban the use of the Prime Minister's photograph on banners and festoons at all official government events moving forward.
