A depression currently active over the Bay of Bengal has prompted the Bangladesh meteorological department to issue urgent storm warnings covering fifteen distinct regions across Bangladesh. The meteorological authority confirmed that the active weather system is directly influencing atmospheric conditions, leading to heightened risks of turbulent weather, rain, and thunder showers in the affected parts of the country.

According to the official forecast released by the department, the specific fifteen regions bracing for potential inclement weather include Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox's Bazar. Residents and authorities in these designated areas have been advised to remain alert as squally or gusty winds sweep through.

In response to the deteriorating weather conditions, the meteorological office has specified that wind speeds reaching between 45 and 60 kilometers per hour may accompany the rains or thunder showers over these specified zones. Consequently, river ports situated within the fifteen targeted regions have been instructed to hoist local warning signal number 1 as a precautionary measure for watercraft and local navigation.

Furthermore, maritime activities are facing heightened restrictions as the weather agency has directed major coastal zones to take additional safety steps. Specifically, the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to continuously display local warning signal number 3 until further notice from the forecasting division.
