Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain carried out an official visit to the Kalai Upazila Health Complex, located in Joypurhat, on Sunday afternoon at approximately 5:00 PM. The high-profile ministerial visit brought significant attention to the local healthcare infrastructure and the ongoing efforts by the government to improve medical accessibility and services for residents in the region.

During his inspection of the healthcare facility, the Health Minister made a major policy announcement regarding the expansion of inpatient capacity across rural and sub-district medical facilities. He officially declared that upazila health complexes throughout the country, which currently operate with a standard capacity, will be systematically upgraded from 50 beds to 101 beds to accommodate a higher volume of patients requiring hospital care.

In addition to the bed capacity expansion announcement at the Kalai health complex, Minister Sardar Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain addressed regional educational and medical training infrastructure development. He specifically confirmed that the Medical Assistant Training School (MATS) institute, situated in the nearby Khetlal Upazila, will have its operational activities officially launched within a short period of time.

The announcement regarding the MATS institute aims to bolster local medical education and create skilled healthcare professionals to support the broader regional health system. Local administration officials, along with prominent figures including Abdul Bari, Al Mamun Mia, Al Mamun, and Faisal Ahmed, were associated with the context of the ministerial engagements and institutional developments.

The series of announcements made by the Health and Family Welfare Minister on Sunday mark a decisive step forward in the administration's healthcare reform agenda. By focusing on both infrastructural upgrades at the Kalai Upazila Health Complex and the swift activation of the Khetlal MATS institute, the ministry continues to prioritize the enhancement of public health services and medical training facilities in Joypurhat.
