Bangladesh Election Commission Releases Final Voter List for Local Polls

The Election Commission (EC) has officially published the final voter list as part of ongoing preparations for the upcoming local government elections across the country. The crucial electoral roll was unveiled during a formal press briefing held in the capital city of Dhaka on August 31, providing a detailed breakdown of the nation's electorate.

During the press conference, Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed formally announced the updated voter statistics to the public and media representatives. According to the data released by the EC, the country currently boasts a total registered voter population of 128,777,643 individuals eligible to cast their ballots in the forthcoming local government polls.

A rigorous examination of the newly published electoral roll reveals the comprehensive gender-based demographic distribution of the electorate. The official figures indicate that the total number of male voters stands at 65,510,665. Meanwhile, the number of registered female voters has been officially recorded at 63,265,711.

In addition to the male and female demographics, the updated voter list accounts for the country's third-gender population, with exactly 1,267 third-gender voters successfully registered. Statistical analysis of the newly released figures highlights a notable demographic gap, revealing that the numerical difference between male and female voters currently totals exactly 22,45,554.

Furthermore, the Election Commission confirmed that the electoral database has expanded with the inclusion of newly eligible citizens. Specifically, a total of 405,403 new voters have been successfully added to the final voter list, reflecting continuous updates to the national registry ahead of the local government elections.
