According to the newly published guidelines, educational institutions will remain closed on September 23 for a scheduled observance. However, normal academic and administrative activities will resume as usual on the following day, Thursday.
The ministry's schedule addresses specific religious and cultural observances, noting that there is no general government holiday and no designated closure listed in the 2026 holiday calendar specifically for Fatiha-i-Yazdaham. Because universities in Bangladesh operate as autonomous institutions, any decision to grant a holiday for Fatiha-i-Yazdaham remains entirely at the discretion of the respective university authorities.
Regarding other upcoming observances, Madhu Purnima falls on Saturday, September 26. Because this date coincides with the regular weekly weekend holiday, no separate or additional holiday will be allocated for the occasion.
