The Directorate of Primary Education in Bangladesh has officially issued a directive instructing all government-run primary schools across the country to undertake planned tree plantation activities. This environmental initiative is being implemented under the specific framework known as the 'One Child One Tree' program, aiming to increase green cover and foster environmental awareness among young learners.

As part of the newly announced measures, educational institutions are required to formulate comprehensive plans for planting trees that directly correspond to their total student population. Schools must ensure that the scale of the plantation matches the number of enrolled children, allowing every student to be meaningfully connected to the greening campaign.

In addition to outlining the scope of the plantation, the authorities have mandated that each participating school must prepare a detailed, time-bound calendar. This schedule will guide the implementation and monitoring of the tree-planting activities to ensure proper execution throughout the designated implementation period.

The official directives regarding this nationwide school-based environmental program were formally communicated through an official letter. This administrative document bearing instructions for the primary schools was signed and issued by Md. Sajjad Hossain, who serves as the assistant director of the Directorate of Primary Education.

The nationwide directive issued by the Directorate of Primary Education represents a significant step toward integrating environmental responsibility within the foundational stages of the country's education system. By engaging students directly through the 'One Child One Tree' framework, the authorities aim to instill long-lasting habits of ecological preservation across all government primary schools in Bangladesh.
