The Ministry of Education in Bangladesh has officially announced the appointment of new vice-chancellors for two prominent private higher education institutions operating within the country. These strategic leadership appointments are expected to guide the academic and administrative direction of both universities over the coming years as they continue to deliver tertiary education programs to students across Bangladesh.

According to the official state notifications, Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Royal University. His tenure at the institution has been officially established for a standard duration of four years, during which he will oversee the university's academic faculties, administrative departments, and overall institutional development initiatives.

In a parallel development announced on the exact same date, Professor Dr. Md. Zakir Hossain has been appointed to serve as the vice-chancellor of Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology. Like his counterpart at Royal University, Professor Dr. Hossain has also been granted a formal four-year term to lead the private science and technology institution and strengthen its academic standards.

The official directives confirming both high-level appointments were formally issued on August 31, 2026. The notifications were processed and authorized through the private university branch of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, which operates directly under the auspices of the Ministry of Education in Bangladesh.

Authentication for both institutional appointments was provided by Naima Khandakar, who serves as the deputy secretary within the Ministry of Education's Secondary and Higher Education Division. With the issuance of these signed government orders, both professors are now officially empowered to assume their respective executive responsibilities and lead their universities through their designated four-year terms.
