The government of Bangladesh has officially appointed an additional 184 medical professionals from the 48th BCS (Special) examination, according to an official notification. The announcement was formally published by the নবনিয়োগ শাখা (New Appointment Branch) of the জনপ্রশাসন মন্ত্রণালয় (Ministry of Public Administration) on August 25, 2026.

This latest round of recruitment encompasses specific medical positions to fulfill critical healthcare staffing needs across the country. Among the newly appointed candidates, the breakdown includes 19 individuals designated for the post of Assistant Dental Surgeon, while the remaining 165 candidates have been appointed as Assistant Surgeons.

Following the issuance of the gazette notification by the Ministry of Public Administration, the newly appointed doctors have been given a strict deadline to complete their onboarding process. The authorities have mandated that all newly recruited medical officers and dental surgeons must report to their assigned workplaces and join their duties by September 7, 2026, at the designated office determined by the স্বাস্থ্যসেবা বিভাগ (Health Services Division).

The recruitment process for these candidates has been coordinated alongside relevant public sector employment bodies, including the সরকারি কর্ম কমিশন (Bangladesh Public Service Commission), commonly referred to as the পিএসসি (PSC). These appointments represent the latest implementation phase stemming from the 48th BCS (Special) examinations managed by the public service administration.

All newly appointed doctors are expected to complete their joining formalities within the stipulated timeframe set by the Health Services Division. Failure to report by the September 7, 2026 deadline could impact their official appointment status as outlined in the directives issued by the Ministry of Public Administration.
