The infections were specifically identified following operations performed at the establishment known as Al-Madina Lab and Hospital, located in the Faridpur upazila area of Pabna.
According to the confirmed details of the incident, the outbreak exclusively affects patients who underwent surgical interventions at the aforementioned private hospital. Medical evaluations subsequently revealed that the wounds from these procedures developed tuberculosis infections, raising serious concerns regarding post-operative complications and clinical safety standards at the facility.
A breakdown of the affected patient demographic indicates that the vast majority of the cases stem from maternity-related procedures. Specifically, ten out of the eleven patients diagnosed with wound-site tuberculosis are individuals who underwent cesarean section deliveries at the private hospital.
