Bakerganj UNO leads cleanliness drive for pollution-free Bangladesh
Bakerganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Milton Chandra Pal led a special cleanliness campaign in the municipality's Ward 4 on Friday morning. The initiative aims to support the Prime Minister's vision for a clean, pollution-free country by inspiring youth and local residents.
A comprehensive cleanliness campaign was successfully conducted in Bakerganj municipality on Friday morning, August 28, drawing active participation from local administration and community members alike. The morning drive specifically targeted the 4th ward of the municipality, where various areas required immediate attention to remove accumulated waste and overgrowth.
Demonstrating direct leadership on the ground, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and municipal administrator Milton Chandra Pal personally took part in the rigorous cleaning activities. Rather than merely overseeing the municipal operation from an office, the administrator physically joined the field work, actively cutting down thick bushes and clearing away accumulated garbage alongside other participants.
This hands-on initiative was organized to align directly with the broader national vision articulated by the Prime Minister. The central objective of the campaign is to fulfill the government's strong commitment toward transforming Bangladesh into a thoroughly clean, beautiful, and pollution-free nation for all citizens.
Speaking on the broader goals of the local campaign, UNO Milton Chandra Pal explained his motivation for personally rolling up his sleeves and entering the field. He emphasized a desire to significantly strengthen cleanliness activities starting right from Bakerganj as a model for local governance and civic responsibility.
Elaborating on the strategic importance of community involvement, the administrator stated, "In order to implement the goal of making Bangladesh clean and pollution-free according to the commitment of the Prime Minister, I want to further intensify the cleanliness activities right from Bakerganj." He further added that by personally descending into the field to work, he hopes to actively inspire the youth and general populace of Bakerganj to embrace cleanliness as a daily practice.
Concluding his remarks during the Friday morning event, UNO Milton Chandra Pal issued a passionate call to action for the entire community. He noted that if everyone comes forward from their respective positions and takes responsibility, it is entirely possible to make their municipality much more beautiful, clean, and livable for everyone.
