The incident unfolded late on Wednesday night at a residential property located within Sannyasi village, situated in the Holokhana union of Kurigram Sadar upazila.

According to official information released regarding the operation, officers from the Kurigram Sadar police station acted upon a specific tip-off regarding his whereabouts. Law enforcement personnel arrived at his residence in Sannyasi village during the early hours of the morning, specifically surrounding the premises at approximately 1:30 AM on Wednesday.

Faced with imminent detention, Minhajul Islam attempted to evade custody by trying to escape from a rooftop. During this desperate bid to avoid capture from the police, he suffered significant injuries to his foot, which included a broken bone and a severed toe as a consequence of the fall.

Following the failed escape and subsequent apprehension by police, the injured politician required immediate medical intervention.
