On September 5, Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu visited the Rangpur Medical College Hospital to officially inaugurate the newly established Burn and Plastic Surgery Service Center. The inauguration event marked a significant development for the healthcare infrastructure at the hospital, bringing specialized medical services closer to the local population in the region.

During the visit, Minister Asadul Habib Dulu spoke with journalists at the Rangpur Medical College Hospital regarding various pressing national and regional issues, including the health sector and an ongoing high-profile murder investigation. Several prominent figures accompanied the minister during the hospital visit, including Shamsuzzaman Samu, the chairman of the Rangpur Development Authority, and Brigadier General Ashikur Rahman, the director of the Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

Addressing the high-profile murder case, Minister Asadul Habib Dulu noted that such a massive killing has not previously occurred in the city of Rangpur to the best of their knowledge. He explained that law enforcement agencies are taking some time because various discussions and symptoms are emerging during the investigative process to uncover the mystery behind the crime. He emphasized that it is now urgent to identify and bring anyone else involved in the assassination under the purview of the law, while expressing hope that a chargesheet and trial could be concluded swiftly following a fair investigation in a short time.

Shifting focus to the broader national infrastructure, the minister also addressed the condition of the country's healthcare system during his remarks at the hospital. He stated that over the past 17 years, the health sector of northern Bangladesh and the entire country was pushed to the brink of destruction due to the fascist regime. He added that ongoing efforts are being made to transform these ruined sectors into people-oriented service providers.

Furthermore, Minister Asadul Habib Dulu highlighted that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has placed the highest priority on making the health sector one hundred percent service-oriented for the public. Acknowledging existing challenges within the system, he assured that the current manpower crisis facing the health sector will be resolved very quickly.
