Alor Pathshala Achieves 65pc Pass Rate in Bangladesh SSC Exams

Prothom Alo Trust-run schools achieve a 65 percent pass rate in this year's SSC examinations across Bangladesh. A total of 40 students participated from the initiative's various learning centers.

The results for the 2024 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations have been officially published across Bangladesh. Alongside the broader national results, the academic performance of the 'Alor Pathshala' schools, operated under the initiative of Prothom Alo Trust, has been released for the current year.

According to the official statistics provided for the educational institutions run by Prothom Alo Trust, a total of 40 students participated in the SSC and equivalent examinations this year. Out of these participating candidates from the various Alor Pathshala branches, a total of 26 students successfully passed the examinations, resulting in an overall pass rate of 65 percent for the trust-managed schools.

Specific branch performances highlight various outcomes across the participating Alor Pathshala centers in Bangladesh. From the Gurihari Kamdevpur Alor Pathshala, 14 students took part in the exams, resulting in 11 successful candidates, a pass rate of 78.57 percent, and notably including two students who achieved the top GPA-5 grade: Mosa. Safia Khatun and Mosa. Nusrat Jahan.

Additional branch results show that Char Alor Pathshala registered 6 participants with 4 passing for a 66.67 percent pass rate, while Madanpur Alor Pathshala had 3 examinees with 1 passing, equating to a 33.33 percent pass rate. Meanwhile, Rajshahi Alor Pathshala saw 8 students participate and 5 pass for a rate of 62.5 percent, and Babudaing Alor Pathshala entered 9 students with 5 passing, achieving a pass rate of 55.55 percent.

In the broader national context of Bangladesh, the official figures for the 2024 SSC and equivalent examinations indicate an overall national pass rate of 62.25 percent, with a total of 116,676 students securing the prestigious GPA-5 grade. These figures reflect a notable decline compared to the previous year, when the national pass rate stood at 68.045 percent and 139,032 students achieved GPA-5, marking a decrease in the national pass rate by 6.20 percent.
