The incident quickly drew official condemnation from prominent political figures within the National Citizen Party, also known as the NCP. Party leaders used social media platforms to voice their outrage over the targeted harassment directed at the well-known actress during her time in European territory.
National Citizen Party Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary took to Facebook on Tuesday, September 8, 2025, to address the attack openly. In his strongly worded statement, Patwary demanded an immediate halt to what he termed a culture of impunity and the politics of compromise regarding such violent acts.
Patwary explicitly emphasized that individuals linked to the July genocide must not be granted any leniency under any circumstances. Furthermore, the NCP chief coordinator called upon authorities to swiftly bring the specific perpetrators responsible for assaulting Azmeri Haque Badhon under the jurisdiction of the law to ensure exemplary punishment is served.
NCP Northern Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam also addressed the Venice incident through a separate public Facebook post, offering sharp criticism of the attackers and commenting on the actress's response. Alam noted that while Badhon had addressed her attackers as 'Bengali brothers,' the individuals who carried out the assault are far more akin to agents of murderers rather than true compatriots.
Describing the assailants in harsh terms, Alam characterized them as moralless entities who have sold their consciences. The cascading condemnations from both high-ranking National Citizen Party figures underscore a deepening domestic intolerance for overseas harassment and violence directed against cultural personalities.
