Uncertainty Looms Over Manikganj Upazila Complex Construction
Construction work for the new Manikganj Sadar Upazila Parishad complex faces uncertainty as a proposed site remains blocked. A writ petition has been filed with the High Court regarding the disputed location.
Uncertainty has arisen surrounding the construction work of the new building for the Manikganj Sadar Upazila Parishad complex in the Manikganj Sadar Upazila area. According to the confirmed details of the project, a substantial allocation of 18 crore one lakh forty-eight thousand taka has been sanctioned for the construction of this much-needed administrative infrastructure.
Despite the significant financial allocation secured for the development initiative, the construction work cannot be initiated because the old building belonging to the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) has not yet been removed from the proposed site. This delay is directly stalling the progress outlined for the Manikganj Sadar Upazila Parishad complex project.
The administrative complications surrounding the site have escalated to the judicial level. In connection with this matter, a writ petition application has been officially filed in the High Court by Md. Awlad Hossain, who serves as the president of the Sadar Upazila Central Cooperative Association (UCCA).
The legal action initiated by the Sadar Upazila Central Cooperative Association president adds a layer of complexity to the administrative hurdles already delaying the removal of the old structures. Consequently, the timeline and execution of the new building project remain hanging in the balance while the judicial proceedings and local clearance issues are addressed.
The overarching project involves multiple stakeholders within the region, including the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), the Local Government Division, and various local offices such as the Upazila Project Implementation Officer's office, the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB), and Palli Sanchay Bank. Individuals associated with the broader administrative framework of the area include Afroza Khanom, Md. Awlad Hossain, Md. Ali Azam, Sardar Md. Keramat Ali, Mousumi Nasrin, and Nazmun Ara Sultana.
As the situation currently stands, authorities and stakeholders are awaiting further developments regarding the High Court writ petition filed by Md. Awlad Hossain. Until the legal and physical obstructions at the Manikganj Sadar Upazila site are fully resolved, the execution of the 18 crore one lakh forty-eight thousand taka construction initiative will continue to face complete uncertainty.
