Tree Plantation Campaign Held in Jhenaidah to Protect Environment
A youth organization in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila has organized a tree plantation campaign to preserve ecological balance. More than two hundred betel nut saplings were planted along local roads during the event.
On August 21, 2026, a significant tree plantation campaign was successfully carried out in the village of Kumrabaria, located within the Jhenaidah Sadar upazila. The environmental initiative was officially organized and spearheaded by the Kumrabaria Voluntary and Youth Development Organization, a local group dedicated to community welfare and youth engagement.
The formal inauguration of the day's events was conducted by Rahaj Uddin Molla, who serves as the retired head teacher of Raku Government Primary School. His presence at the opening ceremony underscored the importance of community leadership and educational involvement in local environmental and youth-driven projects.
As part of the initial phase of the campaign, organizers and participants planted a total of more than two hundred betel nut tree saplings along both sides of the local roads. This strategic placement aims to enhance the natural landscape of Kumrabaria village while contributing to long-term ecological preservation in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Jahir Rayhan praised the proactive efforts undertaken by the local youth. He emphasized the vital ecological role that vegetation plays, stating that trees act as the blanket of the earth and describing the youth-led plantation initiative as highly commendable for maintaining environmental balance.
Echoing these sentiments, Rahaj Uddin Molla highlighted the crucial role that young people play in national development. He remarked that youth represent the future of the country, and suggested that people across the entire nation should learn from this inspiring example to implement similar welfare initiatives in their own communities.
