Tragedy on Dhaka-Pabna Highway: Businessman Killed in Collision

A fatal road accident on the Dhaka-Pabna highway in the Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj district has claimed the life of a businessman and left two other individuals injured. According to confirmed reports from the area, the tragic incident involved a violent collision between a heavy transport truck and a pickup van.

The crash took place in the early hours of Tuesday, specifically around 4:30 in the morning, near the Patdhari village along the Dhaka-Pabna highway. The impact of the collision resulted in the immediate death of one of the vehicle's occupants, a passenger inside the pickup van.

Authorities have identified the deceased victim as 30-year-old Saddam Hossain. Official records confirm that Saddam Hossain was a resident of Goalbathan village, located within the Singra upazila of Natore district, where he worked as a businessman.

In the immediate aftermath of the devastating collision, local residents and witnesses gathered at the accident site. Disturbed by the crash, the gathered locals took the victim's body and placed it directly onto the roadway to initiate a protest and road blockade.

The resulting blockade severely disrupted transportation along a major transit route, causing severe gridlock that stretched for approximately two kilometers on both sides of the highway. Traffic remained completely halted for nearly two hours as a direct consequence of the demonstration.

The disruption finally came to an end following direct discussions between law enforcement personnel and the local residents who were staging the protest. Following successful negotiations, the demonstrators lifted the blockade, allowing traffic movement to resume and return to normal by approximately 6:30 in the morning.
