Three Killed as Jack Fails During Truck Repairs on Dhaka-Rangpur Highway
Three men were killed when a truck jack gave way while they were repairing a stalled timber-laden vehicle. The fatal incident occurred late Tuesday night on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway.
A tragic late-night incident on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway resulted in the deaths of three individuals after a mechanical jack failed during emergency repairs on a stalled vehicle. The fatal accident unfolded late at night, specifically around 11:30 PM on a Tuesday, bringing sudden tragedy to the area.
The location of the deadly mishap was identified as the Mohipur Fire Service area, situated along the major highway. According to the verified details, a timber-laden truck travelling towards Dhaka had experienced a sudden mechanical breakdown, prompting the individuals to attempt repairs underneath the heavy vehicle.
As the maintenance work was underway, the truck jack unexpectedly gave way and slipped out of place. The sudden collapse caused the massive, timber-laden truck to drop instantly, trapping the workers underneath the heavy chassis with no time to escape the sudden hazard.
The victims of the highway tragedy have been identified as Mamun হোসেন (aged 35), Hanjala Ahmed (aged 30), and Liton Hossain (aged 30). Another individual named Nurul Islam is also associated with the incident records from the location.
Emergency response personnel, including units from the local Fire Service and Sherpur Fire Service, rushed to the scene to manage the aftermath. Following the recovery operation, the victims were transferred to the Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (ShaZMC) Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
