Mobile phone brand Symphony has celebrated reaching a milestone of 14 million customers at an event in Dhaka. The brand, which began its journey in 2008, marked the occasion with special guests and company leaders.

Mobile phone brand Symphony has officially celebrated reaching a massive milestone of 14 million customers. The celebratory event took place on Thursday at the Holiday Inn in Dhaka, bringing together company representatives, industry figures, and well-known personalities to mark the achievement of the prominent mobile brand.
Symphony began its commercial journey back in 2008 with the primary objective of delivering mobile telecommunication services to every corner of Bangladesh. Over the years, the brand introduced significant innovations to the local market, notably launching low-cost Android mobile phones in 2012. Through these efforts, the company has expanded its reach significantly across the country, ultimately culminating in a total customer base of 14 million users.
During the Dhaka celebration, the spotlight fell on the brand's remarkable journey and its deep connection with everyday consumers. Actor Tausif Mahbub shared his personal nostalgia regarding the brand, recalling how he saved money from tutoring back in June and July of 2009 to purchase his very first Symphony Explorer W10 mobile phone for 7,900 taka, describing the experience as a deeply special feeling for him.
Edison Group and other key organizations have been instrumental in the brand's operational history. Zakaria Shahid, reflecting on his involvement in the industry since 1999, noted that the brand was originally conceived when global alternatives failed to fully satisfy consumer demands regarding battery life, sound, and speakers. He emphasized that while global component, chipset, and memory costs are driving mobile prices up worldwide, the company constantly strives to prevent that extra financial burden from falling onto consumers, while also proudly highlighting that the Bangladeshi brand creates local employment and drives ongoing progress.
Mohammad Abu Sayem further reinforced the emotional resonance of the brand within the country, stating that Symphony has truly become a name tied with deep local sentiment and emotion. He noted that reaching this massive milestone of 14 million customers proves that the initial 2008 mission to bring mobile services to every remote corner of Bangladesh has been successfully fulfilled. Notably, the milestone 14 millionth customer of the brand is Mafiza Khatun, who hails from Mymensingh.
