Gold and silver prices have officially decreased in the local market in Bangladesh, according to recent announcements made today by the Bangladesh Jeweller Association, known locally as বাজুস. The price reductions affect multiple grades of gold as well as silver, providing some relief to consumers in the domestic market following downward trends in valuation.

According to the latest pricing structure released today, the price of 22-carat gold has decreased by 2,158 Taka per bhori. Following this downward adjustment, the new price for one bhori of 22-carat gold now stands at 2,31,880 Taka. This specific grade of gold is widely used across the country for traditional and modern jewelry manufacturing.

In addition to the 22-carat variety, prices for other categories of gold have also been adjusted downward across the board. The official market rate for 21-carat gold is now fixed at 2,21,441 Taka per bhori. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold has been priced at 1,90,123 Taka per bhori, and traditional method gold has decreased to 1,55,306 Taka per bhori.

Silver prices have similarly experienced a reduction in the local market alongside the gold price cuts. Specifically, the price of 22-carat silver has decreased by 116 Taka per bhori, bringing the new market rate for one bhori of 22-carat silver down to 5,016 Taka.

Industry representatives from বাংলাদেশ জুয়েলার্স সমিতি (বাজুস) have confirmed that these widespread price decreases were implemented primarily due to a drop in the price of refined gold in the local market, alongside a corresponding decrease in the price of gold in the global market.
