Special HSC and Equivalent Exams Held Across Bangladesh on August 24
Special HSC and equivalent examinations were held across Bangladesh for students who could not participate on July 13 due to adverse weather conditions. A total of 2,477 candidates were absent nationwide during the special tests.
Special Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations took place across Bangladesh on August 24 to accommodate students who were previously unable to participate in their scheduled tests due to adverse weather conditions on July 13. The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee oversaw the implementation of these special assessments, which were conducted to ensure that affected learners did not miss their academic milestones due to environmental disruptions beyond their control.
According to the official statistics provided for the examinations, a total of 2,477 candidates were recorded as absent nationwide across the various participating boards. The assessments were administered across specific venues, featuring the general education boards utilizing 122 centers, while the Madrasa Education Board conducted its testing across 37 designated centers to accommodate all eligible students safely and efficiently.
Focusing on the general education sector, the nine general education boards reported a combined total of 68,849 registered candidates for these special tests. Out of this total registration, 66,798 students actively participated by taking the examinations at their respective centers, whereas a total of 2,051 candidates from these nine general boards failed to attend the special test session.
Within the specific regional breakdowns, the Chattogram Education Board alone accounted for 2,035 absent candidates. Meanwhile, the Madrasa Education Board registered a total of 8,559 candidates under its jurisdiction for the special examinations, with 8,133 students successfully taking part in the assessments while 426 candidates remained absent.
Authorities confirmed that the entire examination process proceeded smoothly across all designated locations in the country. Official reports indicated that during the course of the examinations, no candidates or invigilators were reported expelled from any of the participating education boards, reflecting a disciplined and orderly testing environment.
