Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Wins Debate Competition

A prominent shadow parliament debate competition recently focused on the crucial motion that private sector involvement is more important than government efforts in building a skilled youth force for the nation. The intellectual contest brought together academic institutions and prominent figures to deliberate on youth development, economic strategy, and national policy priorities concerning the younger generation.

The competitive debate concluded with Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University emerging victorious after defeating the talented team of debaters from Eastern University. Both academic institutions demonstrated high levels of argumentation and rhetorical skill while addressing the complex motion regarding public versus private sector responsibilities in youth empowerment.

The event was organized by Debate For Democracy, an organization known for fostering critical thinking and democratic dialogue among the country's university students through structured parliamentary-style debates. Through such initiatives, Debate For Democracy continues to engage young minds on pressing socio-economic issues affecting the nation's future.

Discussions during the event also touched upon critical societal challenges impacting the demographic, noting that eighty percent of the country's total drug-addicted population consists of young people and youth. This alarming statistic underscored the urgent necessity for comprehensive interventions and robust support systems to protect and guide the younger generation.

A distinguished panel of individuals participated in and contributed to the proceedings, featuring Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiran, Abu Muhammad Rais, Sheikh Mohammad Zobaid Hossain, SM Morshed, Raonak Jahan, and Md Masood Rana. Representatives from organizations including Care Bangladesh and SOS were also noted in connection with the broader discourse surrounding youth welfare and development.
