Rajbari Fertilizer Dealer Fined 40,000 Taka for Illegal Sales
A mobile court in Goalanda, Rajbari, fined a BCIC fertilizer dealer 40,000 Taka for illegally attempting to sell urea outside his designated area. The operation took place on 19 August 2026 under the supervision of local administrative and agricultural authorities.
Authorities in Goalanda, Rajbari, Bangladesh, took decisive action against the illegal distribution of subsidized agricultural supplies following an operation on 19 August 2026. A mobile court intervened to penalize a local Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) fertilizer dealer found to be violating regional distribution regulations by moving urea fertilizer outside of his officially authorized operational jurisdiction.
The punitive measure involved a financial penalty of 40,000 Taka, which was levied directly against the dealer, Khandaker Faruk Hossain. According to the verified findings of the mobile court, Hossain was caught in the act of sending his allocated stock of urea fertilizer to external locations rather than keeping and distributing it strictly within his designated assigned trading zone in Goalanda.
The legal proceedings and subsequent fine were executed under the direct leadership of Md. Muntasir Hasan Khan, who serves in the local administration as the Assistant Commissioner for Land and acts as the presiding Executive Magistrate. Magistrate Khan oversaw the operation to ensure that local agricultural supply chains remained protected from unauthorized diversion and black-market trading practices.
Also present at the scene during the execution of the mobile court's order was Syed Raihanul Haidar, who holds the position of Goalanda Upazila Agriculture Officer. The agricultural official provided on-site expertise and confirmation regarding the strict regulatory boundaries that govern the distribution of subsidized fertilizers among licensed dealers within the region.
Confronted by the mobile court regarding the regulatory breach, dealer Khandaker Faruk Hossain admitted to the infraction while attempting to explain the circumstances behind his actions. Speaking about the incident, Hossain stated, "Because I had excess urea in my stockroom, I was sending the fertilizers elsewhere. I did not know that fertilizer cannot be supplied to another upazila. This was my mistake." Despite the admission and explanation, the penalties ordered by the executive magistrate were fully enforced on 19 August 2026.
